You're not the only one with connection problems, the ea forums are filled with it. There were also connection problems with the beta.

The only tip i can give you is to check if you have a router in your network, and try to add ports in port forwarding.

As I don't have the game, other then the beta, i can't check which connections it makes and what ports it uses.

Try the EA UK forum for some more help.

They are releasing a server update called R5 Tommorow Morning to solve this and lag.

I hope this helps:

Here are a few steps to try to connect to servers:

Uninstall the BC2 BETA
Look in MY Documents for BC2 BETA directory. If it exists delete it.
Look where BC2 BETA was installed, if the BC2 BETA directory remains, delete it.
Try running the game again.

For all the players connecting to servers and being kicked straight away (and pbsetup.exe or manual updating didn't help) then you will be happy to know we are sending out R4 servers to our hosting providers which will hopefully solve this issue.

This is going out to the hosts shortly and then allowing time for them to update you should see connections going back to normal in the next few hours and continuing to spread to all servers during this evening.

this was a server side problem as once you got in some servers would randomly kick ppl and above a certain number servers would randomly crash

things seem to be fixed now (or atleast better) server side,
EA's server (where you login and where your stats are at) still seem to be overloaded like hell :(

Multiplay re tonights outtage:
Quote:
I'm afraid EA's back end Plasma has died causing all BC2 servers to empty / crash.
Servers currently down will be unable to restart until Plasma is back up and running

Also:

Quote:
DICE has requested that all server providers hold off on creating new servers while they work on an issue that is causing heavy server load due to the large number of servers currently running. A fix is in development to prevent the server browser from causing the heavy server load and new servers will be able to be setup and launched after that is released.

Guess us PC'ers flooded em! I saw somewhere earlier a comment that there were more online with PC BC2, then there were combined x-box and PS3 BC2 players.

Maybe they will start to realise the huge size of the PC market, and the dedicated PC following for such games, and not treat us like 3rd class citizens??

We can always hope :(

Are all the servers created at EA headquarters, or can people make their own servers (like how it is in BF2)? Because wouldn't it have been a better idea to have everyone create their own local servers for people to join thus not putting as much strain on EA? Seems like they can't handle too much!!

You can rent servers from a number of providers (Rackage, Multiplay, etc.) just like BF2, so I guess (just my personal guess) that something like a BC2 stats server has crashed at EA, which is why it has affected console users as well.

You can rent a server like 4netplayers but there is a problem in the major anthenticator server (EA) (the server that validates the keys) - that's why this problem is happening..

sucks!!!

Mike i'll explain it better then them :D

All the servers you see on the server list are hosted on Dedicated Boxes, these dedicated boxes are high end pc's pretty much but converted into hosting servers ( they are owned by many hosting companys like Multiplay, Rackage , killercreation) you can then rent a server from them for as little as £16 $20

The stats are seprated, they are hosted at the EA HQ ( Head Quarters ) These are High End Boxes and they have many of them to cope with the stats and User Accounts, Unfortunatly them boxes got packed with so many people on them, it oculd not cope anymore and it pretty much died, they under estimated us PC Users :)
