DICE has posted another entry on their Battleblog, revealing the 5 remaining Battlefield 3 multiplayer maps. The maps are:

Nosharh Canals:
a map based around an industrial harbor, with both infantry and vehicle warfare, including boats, tanks and APCs. In the Rush mode, attackers start at an aircraft carrier and make their way inland on boats and amphibious vehicles.

Seine Crossing:
the map is set in Paris and is split up into two parts by the river Seine, and will include areas for both vehicle combat and denser places that’s more geared towards infantry combat.

Kharg Island:
based on a real world island, this time, attackers assault the island via boats and amphibious vehicles, where the defending team controls all flags on the island.

Grand Bazaar:
set in Tehran, is a small, dense map that’s targeted towards infantry combat.

Caspian Border:
we already know much about this map as it was in the beta — Caspian Border offers the full Battlefield experience with tanks, jets, and helicopters.

Tehran Highway:
a nighttime map where players start off in the hills out side of the city and work their way in. Sounds a lot like Strike At Karkand. The map starts open, but ends “on a much more urban and tight note” with focus on infantry combat.

Damavand Peak:
was built around wanting to feature base jump in the game, and has the biggest height difference in Battlefield 3. Attackers in Rush start 500M above the first objective and have to jump down.

Operation Firestorm: is one of the largest maps in Battlefield 3, and is a wide open desert map with lots of vehicles.

My only real concern about Bf3 is, now map previews/overviews have all been released. And from playing the beta for 10-15 hours, is that it's heavily geared towards infantry combat.

Although beta no doubt had it's problems, and was no way near finished product, vehicles were all underpowered, to the point where your better off on foot. Vehicles only become decent when you've unlocked most of the gadgets/upgrades. By which time all the people that have alot of free time on their hands, and little to no life, have upgraded the vehicles, which could make gameplay very unbalanced.

For me Battlefield 2 was all about the vehicle combat, and i didnt care much for the "infantry only" side of things. Sure it got maybe 200 hours, but I/O to me, became very boring after that.
We know it's trying to compete with CoD, and it's no doubt alot of the reason it's seems more ground based infantry combat. I hope I'm wrong but from what i've seen and played, I doubt i'll be spending the 2500+ hours i spent on Bf2 over the years.

Yeah, I was kind of dissapointment after seeing some jet footage from beta. No flares until you've unlocked them, oh, that's just stupid.

Not sure, but if to believe what I've heard, a guy with a stinger has 7 missiles(?)
And the MG is kind of waste. You have to shoot so much against a 1 plane.

Tho, my thoughts just come from other people and from beta footage. I haven't played it a single second.

Against ground the mg is useless on the planes other hand its really dam deadly if you can aim with it.

Almost if a guy has RPG upgrade he carries 6 stinger missles, if not then 3 (or at least they did in beta). It's impossible to dodge the missles (without some upgrade/gadget), And he only needs 2 or 3 hits. In fact the only way to stay out of stingers is flying high, but then your pretty much useless.

well choppers felt even more useless tbh.
just shoot 10 rockets in a tank if not more.. and doubt it'll be down (if some1 is repairing it it wont anyway)
so yeah hopefully vehs get more dmg on inf.. like tanks you can hit the ground some1 is walking on it wont kill him.. you have to really make a direct hit to the body (which is just stupid)

Im rather glad about the Infantry bias, in BF2 the jets were way over powered considering they are capable of killing every enemy and vehicle in the game but were vulnerable to only a fraction of them and a fraction of the total server populace. There was no infantry based Anti Air in BF2 so your only choice was the IGLA positions which are static and almost certainly will lead to your death from any half decent pilot or the Linebacker which again when faced with a decent pilot/Heli Crew, was just a large metal coffin.

You actually can dodge stingers and it aint that hard either problem just is that you cant tell how far the missile is so making the evasive too early / late.

All air vehicles were over powered in Bf2, but they gone so far the other way now, it's joke, making air vehicles all but pointless. Sure make it abit more even but now you need at least 5000+ points in air vehicle to get flares, and until you get them, there could be worst case 32 players at having only played 1 hour of the game, firing stingers at you.

Yeah i find this stupid too, and I'm not like this but I will blame CoD for this tbh.
Ppl get so addicted to "unlocks" it's all they play for, and they want at least an unlock every round to keep them interested.

Why would you need to unlock defense mechanisms for a jet? the inf. unlocks actually kind of don't bother me at all but this is just kind of stupid.

getting 5000 points in a jet is actually kinda hard for ppl like me (not pro at flying like jani) cuz we can hardly kill anything but other jets and perhaps choppers and spray for inf kills :P

I know, the only issuse i really have, is that people who have the time to spare, are gonna get unlocks. And while the people that only at best have 10 hours a week "free" to play, are gonna get pwned, hard, before they get any unlocks.
In CoD for example, regardless of what level you are, there isnt a huge difference between weapons, or unlocks. You stand just as much chance at level 5 as you do at level 50, but at level 50 you'll have a gun you perfer.

I didnt get that feel from beta, who knwos, i'll guess we'll all find out soon enough.
