Desert Combat by far although I still like 1942, never played Vietnam, thats about the only BF game that I dont own, have all the rest, including all the expansions and boosters for 1942, BF2 and 2142.

We play 1942 with about 8-16 work colleagues each lunchtime break for half an hour for about 2 years now.
Everyone can afford it (about £8 at the moment) and it runs on all computers.

SUPERB fun, its like playing with Airfix models for real so to speak. :)
Good maps though on the Italian campaign and Desert maps.
Desert combat looks lame these days with BF2 on the go.

Its a close run thing between bf1942 and DC, but i think I'd opt for 1942 original.

Desert combat.................but i installed it again a while ago...................it was soooooooo slow.

Desert conflict(dc mod for bf2) is nice, but lacks players........and making the mistake of removing all the bf2 stuff, wich results in no new players coming in from bf2. Shame....

Desert Combat is awesome....

If it wasnt for this addictive game (ranks/stats of BF2 has to do with it aswell) i would go back to Desert Combat for sure and the graphics aint that bad! The Dogfights are ALOT more skill demanding than BF2 for example... and there is a thing called there "Artillery Targetting", Snipers use their Binoculars and it becomes like a Camera View lets you see what he can see, so you can see also where your Artillery lands, then you hide yourself where nobody can find you, no stupid Commander to spot you (which is awesome for sniping aswell)... then you just keep launching nuclear bombs from the "SCUD-B", hehehe... i once got like 25 kills with a single kaboom :D

And the US Bomber Plane "A-10 Thunderbolt", that thing rox! What a freaking beast... the sound of it is awesome, when people hear it coming everybody jumps to safety :D
