My game had been running fine up untill yesterday when i started to get a strange problem. When i loaded the actual game up nothing happened. The screen went black (as it would normally) but then nothing else happens. No EA games vid, no dice, nothing. The screen just stays black. Something else i noticed as well when i first load up the game, the box that pops up with the various options has "play online now" and "play Battlefield 2" are both grayed out :? I have never experienced this problem before and it started yesterday. I havn't changed any settings, drivers or anything like. I've reinstalled twice, done a system restore and still nothing. Also it stopped doing it for a while yesterday evening and i was able to go, however its happened again now. If anyone has any idea what the hell is going on i would be grateful for any advice/help etc etc.
Thanks in advance
Shak

no i doubt that its the video card, seeing as sometimes the game works fine. It could be a driver problem but I'm not really sure how to check that and sort it...

Go to your card manufacturer's site and download the new drivers. Its hardly rocket science for christ's sake!

delete the bf2 cache folder also, located in your documents & settings.

Try this first. It sounds like corruption in BF2, not a video issue.

yehh i tried it and it made no difference, I'm not too worried as sometimes it decides to work and other times it won't. I just let it get on with it. Thanks for the advice etc etc :)

Have you defragged your hard drive lately?

Or scanned it for errors? It does seem a little strange how random it is.
