So does anyone plan on still playing bf2 after bf3 comes out?

I think that depends on just how good (or not) BF3 is, if it lives up to BF2 then personally I will probably not play BF2 again, if however BF3 is pants then i will carry on playing BF2 until there are no decent servers left that is !

Graphix on BF3 look like they are going to be excellant but for me it is the overall game that matters, its no good having a game that looks amazing if the game play sux.

BF3 will arguably be subject to the patch scenario that BF2 went through. It may be pants initially but hopefully will improve radically as the reality of MP becomes grounded through practical use. Graphically though Layzee, although everyone is going on about the eye candy, in reality again a lot of us will be running low gfx just as in BF2. Not becuase we have shite rigs, simply becuase it aids online load & play. High geometry, low shadow etc, so that won't be the main issue. Longevity & good server support will be. I will certainly be on BF2 servers when BF3 is up & running, becuase it's simply that classic. I don't think there will be an immediate huge mass exodus to BF3 leaving tumbleweed blowing down the streets of Karkand & Sharqi, it will be more progressive than that due to sentiment.

If it has competitive enough jet ladders and map support then defenetly i will be swapping.
So if its good enough yes if it sucks ass like other mw2 then no i prob stay at bf2.

That would be completely depending on the gameplay.
First I will give it about 50 hrs to get into it and then I will decide if bf3 can replace bf2. To me bf2 has the best gameplay off all games, this is just my personal thought.
Better graphics, destructable buildings, new weapons, new maps, etc.. is all nice but gameplay is the only factor which make me wanna play a game.
I still have a weak heart for Wolfenstein ET, it's about the only game I still play besides bf2 after all those years... Man, I still love to kill those krauts, the Tommy-gun is my 3rd arm

So if the gameplay in BF3 is not good...., then I just return to BF2 (and still ET naturaly)

I agree with you guys. I think it will come down to gameplay. However, BF2 is a classic. I dont think I would ever leave completely. But.............who knows.

For me, not a chance. I have been tired of BF2 for almost 2 years now, but still play it every now and then with my clan as I am having a hard time getting them to join me on PR.
So I guess it will be either PR and BF3, or just PR when it comes to FPS games

People still play BF1942. So that should answer that question.

I'm still playing BF2 off an on now since I started with bad company 2. I'll probably come back every so often no matter how good or bad BF3 is. But still, I'll probably play BF3 more!

when BF3 comes out I'll go in and not come out till I hit last rank then it's back to normal like always. Play everything. When Bad Company 2 came out I did the samething. I played nothing but BC2 and in a few 250 hours or so got last rank and I was pretty much bored out of my mind and I was back in BF2142 and some BF2 but not much. I like BF2142 more.
