Great post! I'd argue the FPS thing, though. Can be done in plain vanilla BF2 - bring up the command console (^ or whatever key you got just left of your 1 key), type in "renderer.drawfps 1" (remove the quotation marks), and there you go. I constantly do this when messing around with my graphic settings.

Yep good post, but i would like to add that people can 'accidently', or deliberatly if your a hacker, block the SS by closing ports in you router. I think.

Also, willie is right, some hacks recognise when a SS is being taken and completely cleans the screen. They shut themselves off for a while, then come back on once the SS has been taken. They get to continue hacking and you get a clean SS. Try battlerecorder

Also, you DO NOT have to be the commander to use the so called 'commander hack'. :D

So, there is one shure fire way to catch a hacker, and that is by PunkBuster ScreenShots (See Here and Here for info on PB SS's.

And with These PunkBuster SS's, they allow you to actually see the players Screen (As that player sees bf2), and this is probally the most powerfull tool in catching hackers.

nice post
but your wrong on that one..new hacks can hide everything..even from pb ss's
they see their screen with hacks etc but you dont see anything on your pb ss
so the best way to catch these type of hackers is thought battlerecorder

ya, i forgot to update that. lol,

I have one concern about this post, I dont hack at all I dont agree with it and think they all need to be hung out by their toes and fed e-lax until the flies ate them to death.

I have an ATI radeon 9700 blah blah blah. but theres a setting on there that I can show my FPS. Thats not a hack. Other than that though, great post man, thanks.

yes but some hacks will allow the hack to show the FPs and Time.

Very nice post. But just so you know...and other admins know. There are NEW hacks out there that produce a CLEAN PB SS. I ran into one about a month ago...it was obvious he had an aimbot, but the SS were clean. I searched his name on line and found he ran a website that sells the hack.

Yep, i forgot to add that, and yes, ive ran into a guy who did that.

YA, ive heard of that, but then the SS comes up Black and "B/1" so then it shows that the person is trying to hide something, which isnt good so i would kick/ban them and try to ask why it was black.

Oh shat, my router has a firewall, would that interfere at all? It's a so called "hackerproof" router. And seeing that looking at peoples' information is like hacking, would it interfere with PB taking a screenshot?

Na, just play with it and if something comes up tell the admin, and give him SS's of your router/firewall.

Im sure you have nothing to worry about. Its only for people who have closed certain ports in their router/firewall that pbss uses, hackers basically, but only the smart ones  ...not many then :D

Firstly, cover the GUID's. FFS.

Secondly, maybe, maybe not. Probably not, could be anything blocking it. But...it could be a hack.

Question - does the 'block PB SS' hack, just close the port in your firewall, or does it actually block it by other means??

Great post, good job!
About the PBSS where they all are colored; they use this hack to see each bodypart better, so that they know where to aim. And to see everyone clearer, because of the contrasts.

And btw, I know that there is a bug in BF2 that makes you able to see at least one enemy squad leader on the map, after you get moved to the other team by teambalance. This has happened to me twice. So be careful if you ban people using this type of hack - be sure that it isn't only a squad leader they see, and nothing else, outside the UAV. Well if you see this, just take more PBSS.

But on these PBSS it IS hack though. I'm just saying, be aware that it might be just a bug.

Image - can happen when you join a game and you switch sides...

Image - not a spoofer just an unsupported graphics card... (can happen when you get killed for a split of a sec - if your cp options are on higher values...)

Apparently this is no longer considered a pbss blocker as i submitted one like this a month or so ago...the guy initially got banned and then unbanned as did several others... I'm still iffy on it!

Great post though I'm a noob to this admin lark so its great to look and see things I mightve missed otherwise.

Thanks
