Operation Flashpoint2 has just been released, heres a few facts for you which i dug up.

No Dedicated Server

No Cheat Protection

No CD-Key needed for the game

Loading Bar Bug(When Loading Into Game)

My Opinion on this is straight forward, im going to be sending my game back as soon as it comes here on friday and get my money back, i'll torrent the game and save me the money instead.

What was CodeMasters thinking? they've done exactly the same as to what they did with GRID, they lost out on alot of money now, with this market and so many hackers about for almost all gaming companies make sure a CD-key and cheat protection is required for the game.

on the due fact of the above i will not own the game but rather be a player on the game, very dissapointing.

But now if you torrent it, you won't be able to play online will you? Or will you? Maybe there is no CD-key for the install, but there might be one to make an online account? I don't know, I'm just speculating. Sounds like CodeMasters is a bit behind everyone else with the logistics of game delivery especially having no cheat protection....and especially nowadays when any noob can get a hack!! I would've thought that a CD key would just be like a default thing by now for games.

well it is, but CM are not doing it and are losing alto of money, also if you torrent the game you can still play online, theres no security what so ever, this game has failed even before a week of being released, Code Masters should stick to making car games, even then they don't put a cd-key on for them or anti-cheat for them games, maybe they should just retire the company ?

I suspect they'll actually put anti-cheat and Cd-Key stuff in atfer in the form of a patch. Quite a few games have had no anti-cheat protection only for it to come a month or 2 down the line. More so if they using a private anti-cheat program like Punkbuster.
Is no anti-cheat defo? Sure it's not just the console version, which has no need whatsoever for any anti-cheat software.

Of course they could be trying something new, Reverse Psychology, if theres no anti-cheat protection there people arent gonna have much need for hacking, as it doesnt have any appeal. But if theres something in place people are just gonna try and get around it.

The anti cheat could work, but the cd-key will be hard. How could you tell who was running a legit version of the game?

They cheat to give other people the illusion they are good at the game. Cheats will be made, and will become public. As there is no anti cheat it wont be a 'Pay' hack but something for free as updating wont be required and will probably spread fast. Unless the hackers incorporate a cd-key type licence for use :?

Wow, as you said before, it fails even before its out. Not the smartest bunch there I guess. So then if a CD key does come out in a patch, I would suspect that you would probably have to send in like a copy of your reciept or something from the purchase of the game in order to get a key. Otherwise, anyone using a downloaded version could just get a key. Again, fail.....right from the start.
